KUALA LUMPUR: Kepong MP Dr Tan Seng Giaw has urged City Hall to speed up a bridge project linking Taman Emas to Taman Metro Prime in Kepong here.
"RM1 million has been allocated to rebuild the bridge which collapsed five months ago due to heavy rains, so there should not be a delay," he said, adding that the matter came to light during a meeting he attended early this month between KL mayor Datuk Seri Ahmad Fuad Ismail and a representative of the Public Works Department.
Tan said the original bridge was not built by the government but had been serving thousands of residents and visitors to the area for the past decade.
When contacted, Ahmad Fuad said work on the bridge was scheduled to start early next year.
