CRIME IN TAMAN KEPONG

Madam Lee of Jalan Tiga, Taman Kepong woke up in the middle of the night when she heard her door being kicked.

Peeping through the keyhole from inside her bedroom, she saw two Bangladeshis entering into the house - one tall and slim, the other short and plum. They were carrying metal rods in their hands.

They opened the windows in the first room to check if it was occupied. Madam Lee, who was sleeping in the second room, immediately yelled at the top of her voice and started banging on the door of her cupboard. The next door neighbours who heard the commotion from Madam Lee's room immediately turned on the alarm.

This caused the two burglars to escape. Madam Lee was unharmed, but this being her first encounter with burglary since living here for the past 40 years, she was left in a state of shock.
Who wouldn't?

There are many other cases of burglary in Taman Kepong. Madam Lee's next door neighbour had been broken in twice. The modus operandi in this area appears the same. The burglars enter the house from the roof.

On this page, we will provide more cases to keep you alert. However, we like to inform that there will be a meeting on January 23, 2011 with the police chief to discuss the issues of crime in the area. Residents want the police to step up its patrol in the area. Come back to this page to find out the date, time and venue once the Action Group received a confirmation from the police chief. On the same day, YB Dr Tan Seng Giaw has also been invited to meet the people about the issue of land title faced by the residents.
